On 3-4 April 2025, the inaugural meeting of the working group of the MILKCHECK project – a V4 research network focused on raw milk classification issues – was held in Mosonmagyaróvár, Hungary. The event was attended by Katarzyna Kycia PhD and Beata Śmiech, M.Sc. from the IBPRS-PIB Interdepartmental Dairy Issues Group and representatives of research institutes from Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, who discussed the existing raw milk assessment systems in the Visegrad countries and identified areas for improvement. In addition, a cooperation agreement was signed between the five institutions from the above-mentioned countries. During the meeting, participants also had the opportunity to visit the laboratories of the Mosonmagyaróvár Dairy Institute.
The MILKCHECK project https://www.mtki.hu/milkcheck/ , aims to create a macro-regional research network to analyse the challenges of the dairy industry, with a particular focus on raw milk quality. The project plans workshops, research reports and the creation of the online platform MILKCHECK to support future research activities and international cooperation.
