“Science4Business – Science for Business” – Task No. 1 “Development Incubator”
Prof. Waclaw Dabrowski Institute of Agricultural and Food Biotechnology – State Research Institute (IBPRS-PIB), acting as Consortium Leader, is implementing Task No. 1 “Development Incubator” under the project “Science4Business – Science for Business”, one of Poland’s key initiatives supporting technology transfer and the commercialisation of scientific research results.
The project is implemented under the partnership agreement concluded on 1 December 2025 with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
The project is co-financed by the European Union under the European Funds for a Modern Economy (FENG) programme, Priority II: An innovation-friendly environment, Measure FENG.02.05 “Science4Business – Science for Business”.
Information on the project funding is presented in accordance with the applicable guidelines, using the European Funds logo, the colours of the Republic of Poland and the emblem of the European Union.

Project objective
The main objective of the project is to promote scientific achievements and increase their impact on the development of economic innovation by strengthening cooperation between the scientific community and business.
The project aims to improve the effectiveness of research organisations in cooperating with enterprises, in particular through the development and commercialisation of scientific research results and development work.
Scope of activities
As part of Task No. 1 “Development Incubator”, activities will include, among others:
- mapping the research and technological potential of scientific organisations,
- marketing and promoting the technological and research offer,
- conducting industrial research and experimental development work related to research results with identified commercial potential,
- developing competences and tools supporting the technology transfer process.
These activities will focus on increasing the technology readiness levels (TRL) and business readiness of selected solutions so that they can be successfully implemented in economic practice.
Target group
The project is addressed to:
- research organisations and scientific teams,
- entrepreneurs interested in implementing innovative solutions,
- socio-economic stakeholders,
- institutions supporting technology transfer and innovation development.
Key outcomes
The expected outcomes of the project include in particular:
- an increased number of technologies ready for commercialisation,
- implementation of R&D projects with high market deployment potential,
- patent applications and further development of intellectual property protection,
- conclusion of licence agreements and cooperation agreements with enterprises,
- more effective implementation of innovative solutions in the economy,
- strengthening long-term cooperation between science and business.
