Another young scientist from our Institute has participated in the EU-FORA internship (European Food Risk Assessment Fellowship Program) financed by EFSA.
Nikola Maciejewska, M.Sc., from the Food Quality Department in Łódź, completed a 3-month research fellowship at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her fellowship program included the implementation of the project “Combined stochastic modeling of pathogenic and spoilage microorganisms”. During her stay at Aristotle University, Ms. Maciejewska had the opportunity to expand her knowledge of quantitative microbiological risk assessment (QMRA) and quantitative microbial spoilage risk assessment (QMSRA) under the supervision of some of the best specialists in this field.
The EU-FORA program aims to increase the pool of experts in Europe for risk assessment in the field of food safety, and therefore to encourage Member States to effectively build a common culture of the European Union in the field of risk assessment.
